Vibrational Sound® Therapy
Vibrational Sound® Therapy is the intentional use of harmonic frequencies to recalibrate the body’s energy system. At its root, the body is vibration. When specific tones are applied with care, they interact with tissues, fluids, and subtle energetic fields to help release tension, restore coherence, and realign you with your natural state of balance.
What may appear as sound to the ears is, in truth, a language the body remembers—one that speaks directly to the deeper intelligence that supports regulation, healing, and integration.
What is Vibrational Sound Therapy?
Vibrational Sound Therapy (VST) is a body-based sound healing modality that helps your body shift out of stress and into a deeply restorative state. Using Zen therapeutic-grade metal singing bowls placed directly on and around your body, VST creates both audible sound and physical vibration.
As the bowls are gently played, these vibrations move through the water, fascia, and tissue within your body, working like a subtle internal massage.
As your body relaxes, your nervous system begins to slow down, your mind quiets, and your body remembers how to relax. From this state, there’s more space to listen, recharge, and heal. Unlike traditional sound baths, you’re not just hearing sound—you’re receiving it and feeling it move through you.
VST was developed by Jeff Howard, founder of the Vibrational Sound® Association.
How VST Works
During a session, you’ll lie comfortably on a massage table, fully clothed. I’ll place therapeutic singing bowls on your body, either front or back, and around your body within your energetic field.
Using a Measured Strike Technique, each bowl is played in a precise, intentional way to deliver therapeutic vibration into the body.
Because the body contains a high percentage of water, vibration can travel efficiently through your system, reaching deep into tissues, fascia, and cells. These vibrations have the potential to support the parasympathetic nervous system, calm overactive thought patterns, soften muscular and fascial tension, and support emotional regulation.
Research suggests sound-based therapies may support relaxation, reduce stress, and promote nervous system regulation.

“My VST session was incredibly relaxing, like receiving a wonderful massage, but through sound vibrations instead of touch. Cate’s space felt cozy, calm, and grounding, and I felt completely safe, seen, and supported. It was a deeply restorative experience.”

Vibrational Sound® Practitioner
Hi, I’m Cate. I’m a Transformational Wellness Coach and Licensed Psilocybin Facilitator based in Bend, Oregon. I specialize in helping you get to the root of what’s keeping you stuck—physically, emotionally, and subconsciously.
Vibrational Sound Therapy is one of my favorite tools because it bypasses the mind and works directly with the body. It allows you to experience—not just understand—what it feels like to be deeply relaxed, present, and connected.
Cate offers in person VST sessions in Bend, Oregon.
Where to Experience VST
Vibrational Sound Therapy is best experienced in person so you can receive the full-body vibration experience.
In-person sessions are available at my private office in SW Bend, Juniper Preserve Spa (pictured), and inside Juniper Preserve’s ancient lava cave. Zoom Sound Therapy sessions are also available and may include elements of VST and Biofield Tuning®.
What to Expect
To prepare for your session, arrive hydrated, wear comfortable clothing, and avoid eating a heavy meal right beforehand.
During your session, you’ll remain fully clothed and lie comfortably on a massage table while therapeutic singing bowls are placed on and around your body. We can adjust or avoid any areas as needed.
You may feel deeply relaxed, emotional, peaceful, or more present in your body. There’s nothing you need to force, figure out, or make happen. The bowls, your body, and your energy work together to support relaxation, release, and integration.
After your session, take time to rest, go for a gentle walk, journal, or simply notice how you feel.

Yes, while they work beautifully together, they’re very different experiences.
Biofield Tuning works primarily in your energetic field and can be experienced in person or over Zoom.
VST works more directly through your physical body using vibration from therapeutic singing bowls placed on and around the body. This is what makes VST so powerful—you’re not just receiving sound energetically, you’re receiving it physically.
-
Vibrational Sound Therapy naturally creates a calm, receptive, body-based state, which is why it pairs so beautifully with the deeper transformational work I offer.
With PSYCH-K®, VST can help your body feel safe, open, and receptive before or after subconscious reprogramming work.
With Biofield Tuning®, it combines physical vibration with energetic clearing.
And with psilocybin journey preparation and integration, VST can help you settle into your body, soften anxiety, support emotional processing, and feel more grounded before or after the experience.
-
Not exactly. Sound baths are typically group experiences where you listen to sound. VST is a personalized, one-on-one experience where therapeutic bowls are placed on and around your body, so you both hear the sound and feel the vibration moving through you.

I use Zen therapeutic-grade metal singing bowls designed specifically for Vibrational Sound Therapy. Each bowl produces both sound and physical vibration that can be felt throughout the body.
One of my favorite singing bowls is my “Halo” bowl, which I call my Golden Teacher because it looks like a mushroom when placed on the head.
