Soak & Dehydrate Nuts

Make your indulgences even healthier by soaking and dehydrating your nuts before using them. Soaking nuts in water with unrefined salt helps reduce their phytic acid content. This results in greater nutrient absorption and improved digestion. Dehydrating nuts can result in a richer flavor. It also preserves natural enzymes by keeping it raw.

Instructions

  • Add 2 pounds or more nuts to a large storage or glass container.
  • Cover with water and add 2 tablespoons of unrefined salt. Cover and shake to combine.
  • Store in the fridge for 12 hours or overnight.
  • Drain nuts and spread into a single layer on dehydrator sheets. Dehydrate at 110 degrees for 24 hours or until crisp.
